These amazing artworks are by Sunday Morning Designs which is a collaborative between Melbourne artists Lichen Kemp & Jitske Wiersma, even their names are beautiful! Actually I don't think I have that quiet right. I think the illustrations are done by Lichen's partner Dylan Martorell, but the other beautiful pieces of clothing, accessories and jewellery are designed by Lichen & Jitske. We are stocking the illustrations on pillow cases, they hop out the door very fast so give us a call if you're coming in just for them.

I've just upped my order with them. I think my two man children will love a tree house pillow to drift off to dream land with each night.

tick tock

If you're anything like me, the more time telling devices I have around me the more chance there is of me loosing track of it. I have no idea where it goes or where I put it, probably with my mobile phone when I've conveniently switched it to silent mode!

At least when they are as beautiful as the Alba alarm clock with old school LED digital numbers and faux speaker pattern, you can be forgiven for loosing a few minutes by just sitting and admiring it's suave features!

This very Scandinavian looking cuckoo clock is called the Popov. It's made from birch wood and is battery powered. The little cuckoo pops his head out once a day at 6.00, 8.00am or 1pm. We only have two in store so don't be late!

winter woodland creatures

It's winter and a heard of woodland creatures have galloped in store! Deer, moose, squirrel and antelope, maybe they'll stay for Christmas.

If you like a more modern take on your hunting trophies then take a look at these majestic creatures.

blog this

These photo's are courtesy of the lovely Anna from rummey bears when she dropped by the shop last week and later posted a little spot on her blog. Not only is she an astute shopper and talented graphic designer, she takes some truly beautiful photographs.

crafty cats

I find so may very talented humans in my travels and we've just had a few deliveries this week from one in the good ol' U.S.A and another from Finland. Sinikka from Finland who creates the cute owls from recycled jumpers, has a summerhouse in Bulgaria, where she works until the beginning of August. How simply idyllic!

The next artist is from Bellingham in the States and was a reporter by day, and is now studying computer science. On the side she started making her geeky friends their favourite gadgets.

lighten up

Just in store are the "coolest night lights on the block" according to the New York Magazine.

HEICO stands for fun products made from high quality plastic that are known world-wide and exclusively made in Germany. These lamps are cult lamps which add instant style to any room. A sculptural piece by day, a warm glowing light by night. Place them by some nature inspired wall decals and create an instant whimsical feel.

We have the small mushroom, rabbit and squirrel in store now. So very cute indeed.

soft stuff

Having two small man children of my own, I know how difficult it is getting unique creative and very cool stuffed toys. So when I was at Addison Road Markets a couple of Sundays ago, which by the way are one of the best markets I've been to since living in Sydney, I stumbled across an amazingly talented artist who had hand made these fantastic little characters out of recycled clothes and fur jackets, she even knits their sweet little scarves. She goes by the name of Pepper Stitches and I just had to have everything at her stall. I cleaned her out and couldn't wait to get back to sell them in store. I've only got a few left but just needed to share them.

What can I say, I love a crocheted toy. Aston Bear is about to make a guest appearance in Shop til You Drop for Kids. He's only a shortie, about 20cm high and $16.50, perfect for little chubby hands. He'll be famous, so meet him now and you can say "I knew him before he was big"!

His cousins are in store with him. Captain Monkey and Blackberry Bunny, who's the biggest at about 35cm.

While I'm on the topic of crafts that involve yarn, I found myself a talented mum down south that lives on a farm with a menagerie of animals. She also makes the BEST macrame owls I've seen since 1982. I only have 2 left in store, but there is a new parliament flying in early this week.
